Painting horizontal lines, is very much like writing. Relax your hands and let the paint glide along the paper. In the example I used acrylic paint first using reds and yellows and then overlaying it with blue lines this was to give an idea of the sunset poking through the atmosphere. By doing horizontal lines in this manner it feels like the sea is emerging in my painting.
